Concert Concerto
A moving, pulsing energy snakes it way throw the pit
All who are in the area, I think, now stop and listen to it.
That carefully laid melody-
With that parallel percussion structure
And those lyrics-
So true-
So true to me and you,
Sing through this enormous space
And up above on stage they sing, and we listen to the vibrant pace
The words they speak, and the music they make
Moves in way into my mind
And with my eyes shut, your hand in mine
We listen.
But the bodies around us now, have been filled with some sort of exultation
And as the chorus starts,
They jump and push
And pull and shove
And scream and shout
And stumble and fall
And my hands is wrenched, and pulled away from yours
And gone
You go
Away, away.
My mind in a panic
My heart in a daze,
Lost and alone,
And alone I do stand.
Searching calling,
Falling.
Later I would feel this again, as you left my house, my home
The walls where we had met, closing down around me, as those bodies then did.
We jumped and pushed
And pulled and shoved
And screamed and shouted
And stumbled and fell.
Yet nothing could be done
For our sad and broken toy,
That labor of love of ours
And yet just as I did that mosh pit night,
I pulled myself up,
And kept looking for you.
