Careful Face
We dwindle through these hard white walled halls
With careful Pace-
Analyzed face
And careful pace.
Each outfit, each image, each expression, each step
Measured out and checked
Bowed down by the constant threat of rejection
Amongst each other we stare and judge
And attempt to discern amongst others…
The question of whom
When really, ourselves
Within this too tight skin and too loose clothes
Can’t answer who-
Who we admire
Who we hate
Who we trust
Who we are-
So young and so scared
We seek only the reflection of ourselves on others,
When really
When truly
The greatest comes from those trends unmatched
From those ideas unhached
And from those who have yet to lay siege
On our imagination.
